Anne-Marie is a certified Pilates Foundation Teacher with Comprehensive Teacher Training, meaning she is qualified in both mat-based Pilates as well as working with Pilates studio equipment.
Growing up in Denmark, Anne-Marie was involved in rythmic gymnastics from a young age and has toured Holland, France and Poland with shows before moving to London to study dance.
While studying for her B.A.(Hons.) Dance at the prestigious Laban Centre in London, she found a love for Pilates and spent many hours in the studio, under the guidance of Susanne Lahusen and Peter Curtis. After graduating, Anne-Marie went on to complete her comprehensive Pilates teacher training in 1997 with Alan Herdman at his studio in central London, which was the first Pilates studio to open in the UK.
Setting up own studio in Cheltenham and later re-locating to Warwickshire, Anne-Marie continued to teach mat-classes as well as working with clients one-to-one on Reformer and Cadillac.
Gaining a B.A.(Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2010 and working both in the NHS and private sector as a physiotherapist, has further developed the understanding and skills needed to provide safe, individualised exercise programmes and overcome obstacles for clients with musculoskeletal disorders.
It has for a long time been a dream to set up a Pilates studio in Stone, Stafforshire and when the perfect location on Radford Street became available, that dream became a reality. The studio opened it’s doors February 2019.
Anne-Marie is continually updating her training and seeking new knowledge, and has a passion for Pilates and the perfection of movement which is reflected in her teaching.
